Teppanyaki comes to Havana!

Wandering through the heart of the Vedado district you would be forgiven for not seeing PP’s Teppanyaki (Japanese style restaurant) from the street.

Unassuming in nature, PP’s is  yet another fantastic example of a new wave of restaurants to hit Havana over recent year. The term refers to the type of Japanese cuisine which uses the ‘Teppan’, iron plate, to cook food. Along with traditional Teppanyaki, cooked in front of you by your very own Cuban chef the restaurant also boasts a nice array of Sushi dishes.

This is one of those places that highlights just how fantastic Cuba can be! PP’s is located in a small apartment building, just up from Hotel Nacional and around the corner from another ‘Havana Tour Company Favourite’ – Cafe Laurent. A small sign on the door of the apartment tells you that you have found the right place.

If you are looking for a Cuban dining experience with a difference… this might just be the place!

Havana Tour Company can include a visit to PP’s as part of a private Havana tour, or Havana evening tour.

Where: CALLE 21 Nr. 104 Apto. 4 entre L y M., Havana, Cuba

What: Japanese Style Cuisine (Teppanyaki & Sushi)

Our favourite: The fried pork dumplings are delicious and the Miso soup is a nice way to start

Daniel Stretton

About Daniel Stretton

Dan is one of the Founders of the Havana Tour Company, along with Romey Chuit who is a Cuban national. A keen traveller, Dan Stretton instantly fell in love with Cuba when visiting for the first time. Despite countless salsa lessons, Dan still struggles to dance like a Cuban (or dance at all for that matter). He has however picked up how to make a scrumptious mojito! Dan is also a keen photographer, looking to capture the heart and soul of the real Cuba and the tours he has helped to create.
